Tinymeat <3s Boston

This past sat/sun was the opening weekend for the hot-as-a-pistol South End Open Market in Boston’s SOWA neighborhood. After a summer of people in VT not “getting” what we were about at our local ahem, farmer’s market, and having a truly splendid time last Dec. at Bazaar Bizarre, we decided a trip to Boston was in order. The weekend did not dissapoint.
I am going to attempt to name drop/give props/set a new record for the most links in one post as we met sooo many cool peeps. My apologies if I leave anyone out and I’ll make it up to you next time we come down. First and foremost Chris Masci is THE man, as without his tireless efforts, the market would not have grown to be what it is today. The setting, the promotion, the mix of vendors was/is the best I’ve seen. Bravo Chris. I only wish we all weren’t so busy so we could chat and swap stories. Next time.
Kate Starr makes exquisite beaded jewelry and I am in awe at how many beads go into each piece. Our neighbor for both days, she and her friends made us laugh and were always willing to lend a hand. Sadly (for us but not kate) she is relocating to Maui for a new adventure but I am sure we will meet again.
Family Dinner For One is an upcoming apparel line with a twisted (read; I LOVE IT!) apparel line. Bevs is rockin their “Kitty Porn” shirt and I picked up a Mother and Child Slayer tee. As Beth and Seth’s site comes online I’ll feature them in an upcoming Tshirt Tuesday.
Check out these cool bags from Etcetera Media. 3mm thick wool felt imported from Germany. I know Germany, felt, who knew. They are so thick and luxurious and I needs to get one this summer.
Jess Moss Handbags, Drawings by Katie(talk more next time, lol) and Miximals are three cool ladies that need to be neighbors to the ‘meat next go around.
Girliepants has the same snarky humour as the meat and we think they rock. Check out their Super Beaver thong. So snarky and beavery.
There was also five crafty chicas in an Etsy sponsored booth which I thought was a great idea. Etsy spreading the indie crafter word by supporting some of their customers/vendors. Brilliant. More on these gals after I snag some of their merch.
Finally, I know that many of you are new to this blog and perhaps we met you this weekend. I have to ask that you please check out Doug Palardy’s cool as all get-up shop Motley on Tremont. It’s THE place in Boston to get Tinymeat and as the Boston Weekly Dig put it it’s a “A boutique with good shit”
I love Bev!!!!!!!!!!!!
