The tag Nickelback has mysteriously risen to the top of Technorati’s most popular in the last day. I’ve listened to them, they’re not really my cup of tea but whatever to each his/her own. I even watched the Kurt Browning Alberta documentary on CBC which contained a segment on the Canadian superstars. I respect the fact that they have found a way to make a living enjoying what they do.

Btw, it’s spelled Nickelback not Nickleback.

I contend that their suddenly stepping into the spotlight is due in large part to a brilliant subversive guerilla internet meme compliments of either themselves, their street team or promotion company. Even blogs bashing singer Chad Kroeger as a douchebag, which is probably true considering the above photo, (those aren’t scooby snacks folks) are publicity nonetheless and contribute to the building buzz of their next release “All the right reasons” which hits store shelves 10/4.
