TinyTech Thursday

Relatively low tech but oh so stylish and monochromatic, the Tykho radio designed by Marc Berthier for Lexon is reminiscent of the Human League’s “Fascination” video. Taking an everyday icon and combining it with bright familar materials, in this case rubber, creates a fresh perspective on the usual brushed aluminum and cherry wood electronics that we have all become accustomed to. Designed in 1997 and definately ahead of it’s time it’s avialable at the MoMa store for $55.
I am absolutely in love with the new Home Dock from DLO. It does three really cool things when mated up to your iPod:
- Play your iPod, iPod mini or iPod nano’s music through your home stereo
- Watch slideshows with music on your big screen TV
- Remote Control of over 14 separate iPod functions including photo slideshows
Available from DLO this October for $99.
Video with sound on hacked iPods running Linux. Doesn’t get any geekier than this. Not only are they “this” close to making the iPod photo into a full fledged media player but for the demo video they used the funny as hell “Family Guy” scene of him fighting the chicken. Bravo.
oh man, i love reminiscing about the human league. whoo hoo!
