1 “GEM” is truly outrageous, truly truly truly outrageous @ April 21st, 2005

UGH...so yeah, spring has sprung and those damn little, electric, rickshawesque cars have begun to come out of the Montpelier woodwork. I just had the pleasure of following one up a very steep hill and then another 1/2 mile along rutted, frost-heaved residential streets. It took me 20mins to get home and nearly 3 stall outs in my pollution- spewing, jetta turbo (I could barely even maintain the minimum speed, in 1st, going up the hill). ...

Betcha didn't know that 'Ol Satchmo cut the original of the Britney Spears hit way back in 1932. Here's the proof. It's also Britney week on Supermasterpiece Match wits with Professeur De La Extraordinaire!

0 Super Bug-Free Days @ April 19th, 2005

Ahh spring. As I write I can hear the peepers in the neighbors pond down the street. The rhythms of April are in the air. The warm dry stretch of weather has everyone strippin down to expose bare skin not seen since last fall. My ever increasing awareness of the season changes has me convinced that even the pavement welcomes the warm days as it takes on a more mellow tone as the cars pass by. Our lack of rain ...

Miss Lu wanted a new "custom" coinpurse as she informed me that her other one was too full of stuff. She is very much in a pink phase these days.

0 Random Thursday @ April 14th, 2005

Spent most of the day enroute to and from Northampton, Mass picking up my daughter Miss Lucy. Although 5 hours in the car is great to clear ones head it's hell on the ass and lower back. Terry Gross had Thomas Friedman on Fresh Air today. Friedman author of the best-seller Longitudes and Attitudes: Exploring the World After September 11 has won two Pulitzer Prizes for his coverage of the Middle East. He is out making the rounds promoting his new ...

0 Indie Pop Tuesday @ April 12th, 2005

Capitol K "Pillow" The mystery that is Capitol K unfolds slowly and incompletely, but is still satisfying near its end. Mechanically, the album is a slice-and-dice composition, along the lines of what Aphex Twin, and more appropriately, Squarepusher have been bringing to the forefront. The opening "City" spins your head with a quick tour of what's to come, as a hyperkinetic beat is quickly surrounded by a variety of busy sounds and a backwards sampled guitar line that menacingly darts in ...

1 Wanna haul all your crap and get more than 10mpg? @ April 9th, 2005

Allright before you Poo-Poo this and say "Yuck, it's for soccermoms" consider the following: It's small, think "MPV" It gets 40-50mpg /TDI version Gas is on average $2.40 per gallon It's a Volkswagen Touran Seems the folks at VW had the foresight to create a small mini-van that's stylish and is uber-miserly on the petrol. But we don't get it here. Check their UK Site, models fromthe diminutive Lupo to the Fat-Cat Phaeton comes with the option of pump-friendly turbo diesel yet half the ...

0 Store Update 4/9 @ April 9th, 2005

Added Fieldmix 1.o Ipod Case to the store. At the urging of my "self" I picked up a iPod Shuffle yesterday from Jimmy B. at Small Dog Electronics I immediately set out to "Tinysize" it and of course that meant constructing a case. My first impression of this chewing-gum sized devise is "Damn, it's small" and secondly that they are much harder to design a case for than the standard iPod.
