Climber- “Ep”
The Portland Tribune had this to say about Climber pops out of the cellar: “It’s no easy thing to pinpoint Climber’s sound. Songs are dominated by as many as three keyboards playing at once, but it’s always clean and minimal.”
My lovely friend and superinky propagater, Anna caught these guys last night opening for Bettie Serveert out in PDX. The vocals are vaguely reminiscent of Shawn Smith (Brad, Satchel) mixed with everything from Mum to Kenna to Her Space Holiday. I’m sure we will more from these guys in the near near future.

Aqueduct- “I Sold Gold”
“Debut full-length release from the master of bedroom pop, crammed full of blown-out drum sounds, blip pop synths, pianos, and a sense of both seriousness and humor that continues to draw comparisons to the Flaming Lips, Frank Black, Grandaddy, and Mates of State.” Check out Hardcore Days & Softcore Nights. Aqueduct will be performing live on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Friday, Feb. 25. Stay up late and catch Aqueduct’s debut TV performance. It should be pretty rad.
